Overview-  These ratings have been put together based upon Michigan State Premier Soccer League Fall 2008 Results.  No tournament play has been considered.  The average taken over the course of the season will allow for a team to beat another and be rated lower.

How did you go about rating teams?
While there are a number of variables including injury, frequency of substitution, and refereeing that are bound to make a difference in a team's average rating, the following scores are based on the NAIA Longo Rating System used to seed at their national tournament.  We compute scores by using the table below and taking an average.  The score in parenthesis is the team's rating.  There is absolutely no bias in the rating system and while there may be a more accurate way to assign values to the results, it is the same for every team involved. 

My team played in the MSPSL Regional League or a Local League (GVSA Elite), would my team be ranked?
In order for the scores to be accurate, the assumption is that opponents would be of similar strength.     

How can I use these ratings to understand relative strength?
A 50 Point Difference is approximately worth a single goal.
Home field advantage add approximately 25 points.
